Money in the Bank(sy)
A Norfolk couple who bought a trailer home for £1,000 are hoping to sell it for £500,000 - thanks to a Banksy mural on the side.
Nathan Wellard and Maeve Neal, based in King's Lynn, let the graffiti artist use their then white trailer as a blank canvas when he was still little-known.
Banksy spray-painted a piece on it called Fragile Silence, which depicts commandos landing stereo equipment on a beach.
Now the couple, who make their living supplying circus tents, are hoping that the proceeds of the sale will allow them to buy a conventional home.
Ms Neal, 34, explained: "We have known Banksy for more than 12 years. He heard that we were travelling down to Glastonbury and asked if we would give over the sides of the truck as a work space. He wanted a large white canvas."
They bought the two-bedroom, refrigerated trailer, 11 years ago for £1,000, but a growing family and recent big-money Banksy auctions have meant it is the perfect time to sell.
"We've been travelling around the country for ten years providing festivals with tents," Ms Neal explains.
"We've seen the price of Banksy's work go up and up and we hope his generosity can help us build our new home. We had our fourth child, Neo, five months ago and the lorry is becoming a bit of a squeeze."
And she added: "Banksy is a little mysterious but the man we know is someone who is really giving."
The sale is being handled by Norfolk art dealer William Burroughs, who said: "The work is genuine."
