South East regional finals 2009

13.11pm

We have started on time with 65 players - the four who were stuck in traffic are on their way and they have an hour to get here.

 13.40pm

We have lost our first player - Bill Barber from JT's in Banbury - he raised pre-flop with AQ and was called - flop came down Q 10 3 - he went all in and was called by the other player who had Pocket 10's - Unlucky Bill - Booby Prize goes to you :-)

 13.58pm

Brian Walker is our 2nd player out - he also had AQ and was called with a player who had A10 - unfortunately - the player with A 10 caught a straight and Brian was out !

 14.15pm

Terry Fisher from The Watermans Arms is out - he was holding Pocket 10's and the Flop was KQ7 - then 2 more Kings came out and he was all-in against another player who was holding AQ - Sorry Mate !

14.19pm

Geoff Pulford from The George in Ashford is also out - he had A7 suited and was four-flushing on the Flop - he went all-in and was called by someone holding 2 pairs - unfortunately his 5th club didn't appear and he's heading for the bar.

14.20pm

Ed McConnell is also out - he was holding AK against Pocket 8's - in his own words: "the dirty 8's held up!" - Unlucky mate.

14.33pm

Bill Dalgliesh from The Royal Oak is out just before the break - He was holding J clubs with a four-flush on the table including the AK - so only the Qc would beat him - unfortunately - he was pipped as the other guy had the Qc !

14.38pm

Dharmesh Patel from The Devonshire Arms is out 1 minute before the break - he was holding Q6 suited and he tried to bluff someone who had Trip Kings - say no more !

It is now the break and we have 60 players left.

15.06pm

Very soon after the break - we lose another player - John Mickeljohn from the Chequers - he was getting short=stacked and went all in holding Pocket 3's - unfortunately - someone else was holding Pocket 8's and he lost :-(

15.31pm

Peter Smith from The Watermans Arms is out - he was holding Pocket Jacks and after two limpers he went all-in - one of them called with Pocket Kings - he's just telling me that the previous hand - he had Pocket Queens and was called by someone holding Pocket 10's - needless to say - the Pocket 10's hit trips so Peter - after having a healthy chip-stack - is now heading for the side game...

15.34pm

Tricia Gable from The Watermans is also out - she raised with Pocket Queens - she was re-raised so she called - Flop came down 10 high and she went all in to be called by someone holding Pocket Kings - not alot you can do about that...

16.52pm

WOW - Another big hand - John Zaccariello from The Dusthole was holding Pocket Jacks and was all-in - he was called by Simon Franklin from The Engineers holding AJ and Cathy Gilmore from The Chequers holding Pocket Aces - The Flop came down Q 9 10 giving both Simon and John an open-ended straight but the Turn was a Queen and the RIver was a 4 so John and SImon were both out.

Andy Hutchins from The Devonshire Arms is also out - he was holding A3 and went all in - he found someone holding A5 - the person holding A5 hit two pairs....

Ooer - the blinds are now up to 600-1200 with a running ante of 100 - some players have never played with Ante's before so a bit of general confusion ensues......
