Poker in the Pub

After a lot of discussions with members we have re evaluated our prize structure for Season 4 which starts on 20th of April,

From the start on the new season the prizes for the regional finals will be as per the table on the right.

Any player that has already set up a Paddy Power cash account and has used it in the last 30 days before the regional finals will receive the bonus.

The prizes for each of the national finals will be as follows, there are two national finals held each year.

The final table will be held in a casino in Las Vegas with the winners from each national. There will also be further cash prizes paid at the final table.

Poker tokens will continue and winners will be posted on a regular basis. These $5 bonuses have proved very popular and we would like to thank Paddy Power for their generosity with these prizes as they add up to a lot of money over a season.

From the start of the new season we will be asking all new pubs to pay by standing order or Credit card. This cost remains at £80 per month. Any pub that does not currently pay by standing order will continue to pay £1.75 per player.

The league will maintain the same structure and there are no other changes at this moment in time.

National Finals

As you all know the national finals are coming up soon, they will be held on 16th of May 2009 in the Liverpool Circus casino, details of times have yet to be confirmed. The prize structure for the national finals can be seen on the right hand side.

The final table will be played in a casino in Las Vegas. This will be at the Golden Nugget in Downtown Las Vegas on Sunday the 7th June at 1pm. We will be informing all of our winners closer to the time on travel arrangements and the extra cash prizes that will be paid out.

We know that the transition from The Rivercard was not easy for some and we apologise for the inconvenience that it caused. We are however now looking forward to working with the great team at Paddy Power Poker and providing our players with some great offers and promotions in the coming months. So watch out for some great promotions starting next week.

Anyone wishing to run a satellite or register for the Irish open please let us know and we will help in whichever way we can. The three winners we have to date will hopefully be keeping us well informed of their progress and we hope for many more to join them.

Online league

The current online league is drawing to an end on the 5th of April and after discussions with Martin West, our online league coordinator we are reviewing the structure for the next league, more details of this will be announced soon.

In the new online league, starting on Sunday 19th of April, an EXTRA £100 in tournament tokens will be added to the prize pool and distributed between the top four winning players! Players will now be able to choose their top 10 scores out of the 12 weeks played, therefore if you miss a game then you are still in with a chance of winning the league.

We would like to thank Martin West for running the league, his efforts have made it an enjoyable experience for all involved and many would agree that the league is going from strength to strength!

Crime Scene Nights

Another hugely successful Crime Scene Night was held on March 1st at The Mutley Crown pub. With over 40 budding forensics and detectives showing up on the usually quiet Sunday evening the atmosphere was very lively as they competed to win the prizes on offer.

Hannah Parry, a supervisor at The Mutley Crown said of their night:

“The night was very enjoyable, from setting everything up to putting everything away. All we had was positive feedback and a lot of people waiting for the next one.”
