Online league

After discussions with our online league coordinator, Martin West and some of our online league members we have been looking at the structure of next seasons online league. The Poker in the Pub online league is run on PaddyPowerPoker.com and is played by members all over the UK every Sunday at 16:00.  Since moving over to Paddy Power the prize structure for the online league has become very appealing and we have players outside of Poker in the Pub league bumping up the weekly prize pool, on average the players are batteling it out for a prize pool of $80 a week. After a vote by members we have not decided to opt for the 10 out of 12 rule, for more information on this visit our forum.

The structure for next seasons online league which starts on 19/04/09 will be:

The league will be created on PaddyPowerPoker.com that is a Poker in the Pub NLHE Multi Table Tournament. The format of the games will be similar to a usual Poker in the Pub format - 2,000 starting chips, usual blinds, though levels will last 10 minutes, as opposed to the usual 15.

Players will register and play the tourney to its completion, and score points for their finishing position, which will then be recorded and uploaded into a cumulative League table, and displayed on both the Poker in the Pub website and Living it Loving it forum. In addition, the buy-in will be split each week as per PaddyPowerPoker.com standard payout structure.

The top percentage of players, providing they fulfil qualifying criteria, at the end of the season, will win a place in their respective Poker in the Pub Regional final at the end of the season:

Average number of players No. Qualifiers
5-9 Players 3
More than 9 but less than or equal to 16 4
More than 16 but less than or equal to 23 5
More than 23 but less than or equal to 30 7
More than 30 but less than or equal to 40 8
More than 40 but less than or equal to 50 11
More than 50 14

If a player is unable to attend a regional final then their seat can be passed to the next highest scorer, the place can only be passed down a maximum of 3 places. No substitute prize will be made available as cash prizes are available on a week-by-week basis.

Every week, within 24 hours, the results from the tournament will be collated and points awarded, using the same Poker in the Pub points scoring system as usual, and the updated league table displayed.

For the next online league Paddy Power are putting even more into the prize pool and are now giving an extra £100 on tournament tokens to the top four players, this will be split as follows:

1st - £40

2nd - £30

3rd - £15

4th - £5
