James Allen from the Warbreck pub has had lady luck firmly on his side recently. James was down to only 200 chips in Januarys regional final in Liverpool when his luck changed, he went all in with J 8 and flopped a full house. After doubling up a few times in the tournament he made it to the final table when he eventually finished fourth winning $70 on paddypowerpoker.com. With his winnings from the regional final he brought into a $40 re buy satellite for the Irish Open main event on April 10th. James won the satellite and won a seat in the Irish Open worth 3,500 euros, with travel and spending money! James is heading off to Ireland on Thursday 9th of April!
Crime Scene NightsOn 3rd April Derriford Health and Leisure did a Crime Scene night in aid of the charity Jeremiah's Journey and it was a great success. We managed to raise £350 from ticket sales and had 14 teams attend. We managed to transform the Health and Leisure club into a dirty warehouse with a gruesome body found lying on the floor. All the teams did really well and the winners got a weekend away for four at a Chalet in Whitsand bay kindly donated by someone. Paperboy wins 4m at PokerA former paperboy has won £4 million after quitting his round to become a full-time poker player. Andrew Feldman, 21, from Watford, racked up the fortune in less than three years. He has already splashed out on a £90,000 Audi R8 supercar as well as a plush £500,000 pad. Andrew began playing online games of Texas Hold'em for £1 a time from his bedroom. Within months he was winning tournaments and moved on to big-money games. He said: "It wasn't long before I was earning more in a day at poker than I would in five years delivering papers." Mr Feldman, who earned £25 a week as a paperboy, has signed up with US online giant Full Tilt Poker and travels the world playing in televised tournaments with the biggest stars. But he added: "I am something of an introvert. I don't show off with my money." - Editors note, Yeah Right! |
