Hello all and welcome again to the Living it Loving it newsletter.

We hope that all of you Poker in the Pub players had a brilliant time at the regional finals on Saturday. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our agents who ran the tournaments throughout the country, everybody who went has said what a great time they had and how well run they were.

South West

After a lively tournament held in the Torquay Mint casino, Jason Turney from The Duke of Cornwall pub was the lucky winner picking up a cheque for £250!

Scotland

On the day of the Scottish Grand National 64 runners started the Scottish Regional Final, a little after 1pm. The atmosphere in the room was more convivial rather than tense, possibly due to the great value drinks promotions laid on by the casino, with Peroni for £1.50 proving the most popular choice in the room.

North East

The Circus Casino in Newcastle was once again the venue for Poker in the Pub regional final for players from the North East and Yorkshire.  Fifty one players turned up to the 5th North East regional final to try and win one of the five seats to the national finals and also the new cash prizes of £250 for the winner and £100 for second.

Another great NW Regional final is over and i must say the introduction of the cash prizes made a massive difference to the whole experience but especially at the final table.

Midlands

On a sunny Saturday 18th April 2009, we had 89 entries for the final Midlands Regional of Season 3, at Circus Casino Stoke. Play started at 1.30pm and while still in level 1, our first casualty was Steve Barlow from The Victoria Tavern, Kendal, after his pocket Aces were beaten by Neil Williamson's pocket 2s, when Neil hit his set on the flop and a Full House on the river versus Steve's two pair.

By the first break the players were all happy and playing well and an atmosphere was getting fun everyone was relaxed. Play continued and the field was thinning out pretty quickly and we reached the food break with about 35 players still remaining.
